Autumn Whitehurst

Autumn Whitehurst’s work is a beautiful combination of vector lines and digital airbrush. More of her work at Altpick, and some interviews to boot.

  • The majority of Autumn's work is based on photo reference (using multiple references for one image, as opposed to basing her compositions on a single staged photograph) and put together in Illustrator with maybe a touch of Photoshop. No 3D involved whatsoever. I know Autumn very well, and although I know how she does what she does, her work never fails to amaze me.

Geez, I still don't get how she renders her illustrations like that. I, too, thought she was using a 3d program...
  • Peter, I don't think so. From what I've read in her interviews, it's all painted in Photoshop with photographs as reference.

This is really stunning work... one of the best links I've seen on here. Looks like she's moved onto Maya or Max... that has to be a base model rendered under there.
  • And another ultra-beautiful link-tip from drawn.ca! unfortunately it doesn't seem that there are more than ten pictures
  • Woow, is so beautiful !
  • Reminds me of Coles Phillips of "The Fade Away Girl" fame.
    Beautiful stuff!
  • Wow! Her stuff is so unique! AWESOME POST. Not sure why you chose this one to display though... I do love it.
