With the past two posts, are you creeped out yet? How about a good dose of Margaret Keane, the queen of the kitschy big eye paintings. There was a gallery of her work in San Francisco, but has since been closed for about 3 years. No word on whether or not she’s still doing her thing. Most of what you’ll see on the link are post-60’s work, but all still possess her trademarked big, captivating eyes.

Interesting tidbit of info: Margaret sued her husband, Walter, for taking credit for all the paintings, and eventually won the case after proving to the jury that she was indeed the artist by actually painting an oil painting right there in court. Her husband refused to do a painting, stating that he had a “sore shoulder.” Margaret divorced Walter and moved to California to continue her career.
