Imaginary Forces

Okay, since doing movie title sequences has been a life-long dream of mine, I’ll add to the collective Drawn! pot here with one of my favorite design houses that specialize in this field. Since you guys are posting some of the best of the Old School, allow me to introduce to you all one of the leaders of the ‘New School,’ Imaginary Forces. And, like Pablo Ferro, you’ve probably seen some of IF’s work, whether you knew it or not. As you can see, they did the creepy-beyond-belief opening for Se7en, which blew me away when I first saw it in the theaters, and perhaps my favorite. Mission: Impossible, Spiderman, and Hellboy, are but a few of the other titles featured that they’ve done, so check them out. IF also does commercials as well as identity for corporations, among other things, but I really dig their title work.

  • I see that they also did the much talked about new logo for DC Comics...

  • I meant to mention Kyle in the post, but I am too frickin' lazy. Sorry about that. Thanks for the link to Prologue, Jamie.

Yeah, Kyle Cooper designed Se7en, Mission: Impossible and Spider-Man. You should definitely check out Prologue Films like Jamie mentioned. They did Spider-Man 2, and one of my favorite title sequences of the last few years, Dawn of the Dead. Very cool stuff. They're also responsible for those awesome Hewlett Packard commercials with the endless photos (you know, the guy holds the picture up to the camera, it freezes, then continues, getting deeper and deeper).

Nice to see these posts. I had a seminar a few years back at MassArt with Kyle Cooper, really nice guy.

We can't forget to give special recognition to Kyle and his new venture Prologue Films: http://prologuefilms.com/

(Not a bad little demo reel by the way)

  • Sigh, I wish my company still did title sequences. Nice knowing where we came from though.
