Saul Bass Kicks Ass

Attention…attention… I thought it time we name-checked one of the greatest visual thinkers of all time, an honest-to-god “design pioneer”… title sequence and logo design legend, Saul Bass. If you can get ahold of the book Saul Bass And Associates, you will be amazed. Did you know the same dude that animated the title sequence to Hitchcock’s ‘Vertigo’ also created the AT&T logo? Seriously great work. If you don’t know Bass, you don’t know jack.

i'm doing a project at on my graphic design course at college on a 20th century design icon and have chosen Saul Bass! Man! The more I see, the more I'm impressed! Saul Rocks! totally inspirational!
  • I love Saul Bass forever.
  • There are folks that contest that he had no involvement in that scene, but that's just splitting hairs. He was definitely one of the best, and one of my faves.
  • I've got a coffee table book with Bass' work and it is an inspiration. Truly great stuff. He also 'designed' the shower scene in psycho for lack of a better way of putting it.
