The Circle Project

I’m having flashbacks to playing with a Spirograph here… Richard Sarson is a graphic artist who has just recently graduated from the Royal College of Art in London. The Circle Project is a series of drawings created with a compass, some coloured marker pens and a heck of a lot of patience. Each drawing measures 840 x 590mm in size and there are over a thousand circles drawn on a grid of 104 points. The appearance is determined by the coloured pens used, the amount of circles and distance between each compass point.

  • It's great.I really appreciating Richard Sarson, How did he do that? I think it's very difficult to draw like that. He done a good job.

I thought Richard would have explained this pattern to this every one. I hope he will make it clear to us very soon. But this time i observed it carefully and found it a bit interesting and i made a try to draw.

Its a nice graphic. Richard Sarson had done a great job. It is a very confusing graphic and need patience to understand. Lots of time should have been taken to complete this project. But I failed to understand what it is.

Boring. I want to see nude women.

I hope those aren't drawn with cheap/light fugitive felt tipped pens. It would be ashame to have those drawings fade away.

All i can think of as i look at this is imagine is he was on circle number 99 and his pen leaked as pends tend to do. Or even the ever popular thumb print.
