New Yorker: Four Chris Ware Covers

The New Yorker is celebrating Thanksgiving this year with not one, but four beautiful variant covers by Chris Ware.

I am right now arguing with my partner about which one we hope will arrive in the mail this week. I like that one (above).

He’s also produced fiction piece for the magazine called, “Leftovers,” and an audio interview – in which he discusses (ahem) Thanksgiving.

Sounds like an uplifting interview.

Chris Ware is the best. All of his comics are so effectively depressing.

Wow, I mean its taken as read that Mr Ware’s work is up there with the best, but Left Overs is on a completely different level. It’s simply one of the most beautiful comic strips I’ve seen!

  3. “Leftovers” made me tear up a little.
