Ask Drawn!: Sports illustrators

Gemma writes:

I’m currently trying to research sports related illustrations, poster art and imagery. I was hoping you may be able to suggest relevant artists or books on the subject. I have been researching into the history, and am yet to find any current illustrators, but any input would be amazing.

If you have any suggestions, please comment!

"It covers the golden age of British football, a time of local pride and growing success, of "Roy of the Rovers" good feeling, all of which is reflected in period designs, colorful graphics and charming illustrations, far from the glossy corporate memorabilia that fans accumulate today."
  • If you wanna go old school, Jack Davis has done tons of sports related illustrations for the MLB, NFL, NBA, and his alma mata - the University of Georgia.
