How much does this image look like a face? That’s the question you’re asked when you visit Mutating Pictures. Visitors to the site are presented with similar Rorschachesque images generated by a computer and rate the images on how closely they resemble people and animals. The higher-rated images produce slightly-mutated offspring that are introduced into the population of images, and the lower-rated pictures gradually go extinct over time.
