“Fight, work, persevere — gain slight notoriety.”
Comic Book Writer, Harvey Pekar

NPR features a gallery of illustrated “six-word memoirs” by well-known writers. The snippets of wisdom are collected in the new book, Not Quite What I Was Planning: Six Word Memoirs by Writers Famous and Obscure. NPR writes: “Their stories are sometimes sad, often funny — and always concise.”

The genesis of the six-word project was with the online magazine, Smith. (An aside: their initiative inspired my failed attempt at a Six Panel Sci Fi meme).
