Moebius Redux

A 47-minute documentary about Jean Giraud (AKA “Moebius”), one of the most influential comic book artists of all time.

I’ve only had time to watch about half of it, but it’s a really thorough biographical overview with some nice shots of him inking at his desk.

  • Awesome, Thanks so much for posting this. I have alwas loved Jean Giraud and his years of work. Just like so many other artist out there he has been a huge influence on me. Does anyone know if the piece is available on VHS or DVD?
  • I have been a fan since childhood too and I've never understood how such a tremendous and versatile artist could remain as obscure as JG still is outside of France. This is a great doc, I wish it were longer. In some ways it leaves me with even more questions.

Amazing - what an interesting doc! Moebius has been a favorite of mine since childhood and had a huge influence on my art. Thank you for posting this :)
  • Shame about Jim and Stan Lee being on the doc tho'. Hilarious to hear Stan take credit for Kirby's work again, somebody should read him Evanier's book. And why show Jim Lee art on a Moebius doc, hasn't this guy had far too much press in contrast to his very limited talent, as opposed to the 'Pope'.
  • Fantastic! Druillet, Jodorosky,O' Bannon, Giger and Mignola, mushrooms, cults, some very interesting stuff on the'Pope' of comics. Most interesting was Druillet's schism with Moebius in the 80's and Jodorosky's view on the nebulous duality of Moebius the artist, and Giraud the man. Brilliants. Thanks.
