Linzie Hunter’s spam one-liners as postcards

Linzie Hunter’s brilliant collection of illustrated spam messages, her Spam One-Liners, has now been published as a book of postcards. And my favourite of the bunch was chosen as the cover and title of the collection: Secret Weapon: 30 Hand-Painted Spam Postcards.

Linzie’s project is a shining example of how personal creative exercises — in this case, illustrating e-mail spam messages — can turn into something incredibly rewarding. Postcards seem to be the perfect canvas for these typographic non sequiturs, though I’d hate to give any of them away. They are, however, perfect for framing; whose wall wouldn’t look better when decorated with WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN BUYING A REPL1KA WATCH?

What a fantastic way to take something annoying and turn it into something fun and enjoyable! Of course, the idea made a lot more sense to me when I saw the photos and realized you meant email spam, not the food! I was wondering when Spam had become a male enhancement!
