Olly Moss

This reimagined poster for Charlie Chaplin’s The Great Dictator is sublime. It’s the work of designer/illustrator Olly Moss.

    Fantastic work !
    and she's only 21.... *sigh*
  • Neat idea.

Fits the movie in a classy way.

I'm guessing this is a straight lift from the Serviceplan hat advertisement that caused a bit of a stink earlier this year: http://abcnews.go.com/International/story?id=46...

Though it might be intended irony seeing as the topmost message on her Design page is the "Great artists steal" line.
  • Moss
Hi. I'm the creator of this poster. It's not a rip from that ad, although someone did point me toward it after I'd finished. Just thought I should clear that up.

    Also, I'm not a girl.

I apologize for the gender mistake, as I was looking at an above comment. I also rescind my implication that you used the ad image; that story was just the first thing that came to mind when I saw your poster design.
  • Moss
No problem. It happens all the time when you work with such popular cultural imagery. If you've had a good idea, chances are someone else has got there before you.
  • oops! sorry for that, i should have re-read myself before posting.

i love this. i saw this on olly's site about a week ago and nearly freaked but i didn't think he ripped it. well anyway he cleared it up. and olly you're a cute guy.

It's actually "Bad artists copy. Great artists steal" by Pablo Picasso.
