24 Hour Comic

Come one, come all, to the 2005 24 Hour Comic challenge! This Saturday, April 23rd, is the annual challenge that causes artists from all over the world to lock themselves away, all in the hopes of creating a 24 page comic in a mere 24 hours. If you’re interested, read the dare, get your supplies, and get ready to work. I know I am.

Eep! I bet that’s when the best stuff comes out of the cartoonists. Like those days when you had sleepovers and stayed up late laughing so hard at EVERYTHING! Everyone is a genious from 2:00 AM to 4:00 AM. :)

3 of my good friends Matt Sutter (who happens to be my partner in InkFinger), Kevin Cornell, and Pete Dalkner all did the 24 hour comic twice, and they even put a spin on it! They each did thier own story, and sketched it out, then they passed it over to another one of them, and that person did the inking, and finally they passed it over again, and the next person did the lettering. They all came out great but the second time around I don’t think they finished.
OH! they also tried to incorporate an eliment from the Other’s story in thier own. Here is one of them ( on Pete’s site called MUSTACHE FACTORY) story by Matt sutter, Ink by Pete and lettering by Kevin-
It’s also my favorite one so far.

    I agree Lindsay.

I know what you mean… except I have no life, hence, ample free time. I’m looking forward to it.

Thanks for the links Niff. Those were pretty cool… I especially enjoyed the mustache comic.

FYI, if anyone is in the Austin area and is intrested, I’ll be participating in the challenge at Austin Books (51st & Lamar). Come by and join me… or at least say “hi”.

I finished! Well, my story ended at 20 pages, but I was tired and went to bed. Did anyone else finish theirs?
