With the knowledge that limitations can breed creativity, a few weeks ago I thought it might be interesting to solicit the Drawn! community for a list of rules or limitations for creating comics. Looks like I don’t have to do this, as the fine folks at 52 Comic Challenges have done all the work for me. Each week they present a new challenge for comic creators, giving us new ways to think about our work and how we create. So far there are 5 challenges already posted, so it’s not too late to catch up. Of course, you can just jump in at any time and participate as much or as little as you like. Looks like a lot of fun. The current challenges include writing and drawing your own origin story, creating a comic with 20 or more panels on the page, drawing a song, drawing a biography, and creating an instructional comic.
