Adrian Tomine Interview (Audio mp3)

The Free Library of Philadelphia is offering up the audio of this public presentation by Adrian Tomine where he talks about his latest graphic novel, Shortcomings.

Among other things, he discusses his influences, the pressure to write about his Asian-American background, and the process of “graphic scripting”; using images to write the comic, instead of words.

Also, if the presenter is to be trusted, we learn the proper way to say Adrian’s surname (it’s “To-mee-nah”).
