Advice for freelance artists

flight_makingcomics.jpg

Dave Roman, an editor at Nickelodeon Magazine and a accomplished artist himself, offers his advice on how to find work in the field of comics and illustration.

In fact, it’s a hefty, valuable read for any freelance artist.

This is really really cool to have fellow artists offer up advice and encouragement like this. And for free. We don’t even have to buy him lunch or coffee.

I read this as well as Daniel Davis’ advice on steamcrow.com this week. Both were really helpful and actually inspirational. It all seems like common sense after you read it. But even for those of us who have been doing this for awhile, the reminders are so helpful to get things back into perspective.
