In addition to her paintings, I love Allison Sommers‘s description of her work:

I usually work very small-scale in gouache and often incorporate made-up sea creatures, sausages, birds, genitals, tiny houses, and naughty long-necked slothy creatures in anachronistic costumes into themes and scenes influenced by the sea, folkloric villages, and general historical mish-mashes.

    Allison’s work is amazing. You can seriously spend hours studying all of her tiny paintings. There is so much more to them(details and humor) than you see at first glance.
