I prefer “colored pencils” and it really is gorgeous stuff. You CAN do a lot with colored pencil. Whenever I have shows, most people ask “Is that pastel?” or not know what the media was at all.

pencils.. artist or studio are a medium that are perfectly suited to creating beautifully detailed illustrations if you have the patience and eye needed, as is evident in Amandas illustrations.

Wow Amanda,
Beautiful styling and color usage! I really envy both!
If you don’t already, have you considered illustrating children’s books? Your subject also has a lot of character.

Hey Stevie…thank You for bringing the Title to our attention. The art is just unbelievable Amanda……..but the image of the slow moving, razor clawed sloth to represent cancer was genious. I am sure we have all watched as at least one of our loved ones have been taken by cancer. A very good choice of imagery to depict the “monster” we know as cancer. Brightest Blessings girl……….

I’m rather confused by the references to ‘Cancer’ here, as it was the previous article that was entitled ‘Moms Cancer’, and the words Moms Cancer appear here only as the link to the previous article not as the title of this illustration.

Charlie…the sloth as Cancer is right on. Some cancers are slow moving not unlike the sloth itself. Look at the tense, muscled body as the tumor. The razor sharp claws showing how it tears apart anything it grabs on to.
I guess to me , it makes complete sense. But I also know onw thing we can all agree on is the beauty of her art.

This illustration has absolutely nothing to do with cancer, sorry guys. I think that title was supposed to refer to a previous article on THIS site.

Uh… yeah. As you can see, the arrows point you to the previous entry as well as the entry after this one. Hence the words ‘Mom’s Cancer’ which was the entry before this one, and ‘The Big Picture’ which is the entry that follows this one.
Pretty self-explanatory.
