It’s too bad that the show is so terrible. It really is. Jay’s work has it’s charms, for sure, but it isn’t evident in this awful concept, even if it weren’t executed like a 70s Saturday AM Filmation cartoon with more bells and whistles.

Let’s hope that, if he gets a chance to do another show, it’s more in line with his own vision. Unless Tutenstein is EXACTLY what he meant it to be, in which case, oooh.

Hey Tom, if you’ve ever seen the original comic book version of Tutenstein, you would know that my concept of the character was a little different (better? that’s for you to decide), especially visually. Though I was deeply involved in developing the show (and take offense at your “awful concept” crack… I happen to love dead kids and ancient Egypt), I did not have a hand in writing, designing or animating the actual episodes. For some earlier production design work of mine (for which I got an Annie Nom), I humbly refer you to the Nicelodeon JETCAT shorts. If you hate those, then, well…

    Congrats to Jay! Well deserved!

What is NOT deserved is the harsh criticism from Tom. Feh.
