This image is awesome. I had a couple of different motorcycle games for my old Commodore 64 and this reminds me of all of them.

    The Official contect rules say

“2. ELIGIBILITY: Contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and Washington, D.C. who are at least 13 years of age at time of entry and who have internet access as of March 9, 2006. ”

So unfortunately anyone out of the U.S can’t enter. Even us Canadian friends to the North.

I find it pretty disappointing that digital art is not eligible. Have Wacom, will travel!

I like every once in a while for digital art to sit on the sidelines. We’re oversaturated now with Photoshopheads in every facet of the artworld, that forcing you to get your hands dirty is good for the soul. Seperates the men from the boys (or women from the girls if you prefer).

What makes you think digital art isn’t eligible?

“Follow the on-screen instructions to upload the jpeg image of your original painting, a sculpture, drawing, mixed media or digital art that represents the 8-bit video game era.”

Ah, nevermind. I found it. Hopefully mine still counts as mixed media since it was a pencil drawing before it was an Illustrator pic. Otherwise I just wasted a good part of the day because I don’t know how to effing read. >:(

If you guys live outside the U.S. and still want to enter the contest, just use a friend or family’s address in the U.S. It’s a legal loophole that’s totally legit. Seriously.
