At least they had good intentions. Behold, if you will, the Museum of Bad Art, or MOBA. It is the “world’s only museum dedicated to the collection, preservation, exhibition and celebration of bad art in all its forms,” so says their website. Tag line for the museum: “Art too bad to be ignored.” And I would have to concur. There are some pretty bad works of “art” in their collection, some of which were found in dumpsters, yard sales, thrift stores, even from the artists themselves. (This painting of an old woman dancing was the one that started it all, found in the trash in Boston.) But considering that Drawn! is all about inspiration, I just had to hand it to these “artists” for at least giving it the ol’ college try. Their heart was in it, but not their talent. There’s even a book featuring MOBA’s collection. If you have enough intestinal fortitude, check it out HERE.
