Mural by Charles Schulz

A year ago, I had the opportunity to visit the Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center in Santa Rosa, California. There are some great exhibits and original art, but my favorite was this mural. It was rediscovered in one of Sparky’s prior homes, restored, and transported to the museum. Read the story and see pictures of the move here.

I’ve spent a couple of afternoons wandering around the Schultz Museum–wonderful place. It’s great to see the collections of strips from all those years. He really knew how to mine the depths of a simple idea, like the kite-eating tree. Such clean, spare lines in his drawings–great stuff.
