Christoph Niemann

niemann new yorker cover

This post on Laughing Squid reminded me that I wanted to mention the work of Christoph Niemann. His simple, brightly-coloured spot illustrations usually accompany James Surowiecki’s articles in the New Yorker, but if you keep an eye out, you can find his stuff everywhere.

And deservedly so – his work is so clear and clever that he is almost forgiven for laying claim to the most abhorrent MySpace page ever.

I mostly favor ****up over conspiracy theories, but that Myspace looks painful on purpose. ;) Good stuff, though. I really liked the tanker (Gallery 3, Various IX).

One of my faves, f’real. No one can touch him conceptually, in my opinion.

There is no such thing as an appealing MySpace page. Prove me wrong, internets.
