Cloud Boy, Oh Boy!

Tantalizingly short, and oh so sweet, Cloud Boy is a wonderful little children’s book by previously blogged cartoonist/ illustrator Rhode Montijo. That last link takes you to some cute craft ideas for the classroom, if you’re interested. I just keep loving Rhode more and more.

    I met Rhode years ago in Oakland when he was finishing up “Pablo’s Inferno”. I’m very excited for “Cloud Boy” and I hope this is just the beginning of a long, successful career as a children’s author for him.

    If you haven’t read Pablo’s Inferno, Rhode’s comic from a good few years ago now, you just have to find a copy. I honestly think it is one of the best comics ever made. I stumbled upon it during a visit to the Bay Area back when it was basically a ‘zine. I picked it up because the art was just so amazing. Anything from Rhode (with the possible exception of Happy Tree Friends) is just fantastic. I’m so excited he’s got another book out.
