Over at the most excellent Stop Motion Animation forums, webmaster and animator Anthony Scott posted a link to view a very nice sneaky-peek of the up-coming Corpse Bride. I’m just dying to see this film! (Sorry about that.)

I was lucky enough to see some sneaky peeks and even the live figures and a stage from the movie at the San Diego Comicon. I really couldn’t believe that the movie is stop-motion; it’s so clean. And seeing the characters in the “flesh” was amazing. I thought they were gonna get up and walk away. The people working on this are extraordinary!

I went on set during shooting. The artistry involved in making that film is simply staggering. I hope the story matches up to the visuals. If it does, we’re onto a winner.

It’s playing this week at the Toronto Film Festival, but so close to its actual release date, I chose to wait until it hits theatres. Although it would’ve been great to see the Tim Burton and Johnny Depp discussion afterwards… I’ll be sure to write about the Nick Park Q&A I’m seeing on Thursday.

There’s some unbelieveable acting going on in that scene — I just HAD to post it. Excellent stop-motion animation.

I just made several Flash-based email toys for the Warner Bros. “Corpse Bride” online marketing campaign. Thought it might be appropriate to post one here since it’s a skeleton hand drawing tool — draw or write a message and send it around…

I didn’t even realize it was stop-mo until a few days ago when I was discussing. I am excited about it. I DO find it a little odd that the music hasn’t changed from Nightmare Before Christmas. Do you think maybe they are just using that score for the trailers? anyone?
