I’ve never actually seen one of these Aurora dinosaur model kits in person, but apparently they were life-altering for the kids who owned them in the 70s – especially the mythical T-Rex.

The late, great, Dave Cockrum (of X-Men fame) designed a slew of the models and achieved a sort of cult notoriety amongst the elite group of kids who owned them.

Now CBR is running a fascinating, in-depth 1995 interview by Anthony Taylor, where Cockrum discusses the toys and how they were developed. The article is accompanied by lots of Dave’s great illustrations, but if anyone has any good photos of the storied models, please add a link to them in the comments. I can’t seem to find any.
