Drawn! 3.0

Regular visitors to the site should notice a change today. We’ve finally implemented a long overdue redesign. In addition to generally simplifying and cleaning up the look, the layout no longer breaks in Internet Explorer (at least as far as the testing I’ve done seems to tell me; please let me know otherwise). And if you’re reading the site via RSS, it’s a good a time as any to come check out the new digs.

Plus, the forums are back and now fully integrated with the blog’s user system, which means you no longer need a separate login and password for the forum and the blog’s comments. Unfortunately this meant starting from scratch and abandoning the previous forum conversations with no way of importing them easily. So start filling it up with your discussions and questions, and start sharing your work with others.

We’ve also implemented our good friend and webcomic superstar Ryan North’s Project Wonderful advertising-as-auction system on the left-hand side there. As of this writing, the highest bid is three measly cents, so act quick!

    For me, in IE it looks fine, the entries are at the top of the content area just under the black bar… but in FF there seems to be a huge gap and the entries start further down, about equal to where the link to “blog” is. In fact the horizontal rule almost lines up exactly with the top of that darker blue box. It could just be me… in which case, no worries as I read this via the rss. but mentioning it in case it isn’t just me. :)

    I can provide a screencap if you need one.

    Very nice redesign..!
    I love the way you can change the color of the logo & titles (there’s a little bug in the orange btw) but I think I’ll stick with the blue (or the green).
    but like I said; very nice…

    Hey congrats to you all. I was kinda partial to the old layout but think this one has the advantage of a wider middle column(at least in my browser.) FYI, orange style is display a bit of the blue colour aslo. I am viewing on a PC using Fireox2.0.

    the really really great new thing is now, that if you want to see older posts or pick things from the category you see the pictures now!
    before that was an annoying thing, cause you had to click onto the blog topic before you could get any picture to it.
    know what i mean? many blogs have that…and it was hard to find out what really interests you on a quick overview.
    *sigh-hard to explain*
    anyway-its perfect now!

    Been too busy with work to even stop by here for almost two weeks now. This felt a bit like when I went to cub scout camp as a kid, while my folks moved to a new house, so that when I came “home” it wasn’t even in the same town anymore! “Wha.. wha… where is everything??”

    (ps: Safari keeps auto-logging me out.. it logs me in, then redirects me to the home page.. then if I click on a post to comment on it, I notice that the link at the top no longer has me logged in.. I’m using FF without this problem)
