Kyle made some great points. Nice to see a video version, as well, to get a sense of the man himself. Great!

I (heart) Milton Glaser. Mr. Baker was lucky to work for him.
Thanks for sharing!

Wow – Milton Glasser! I’m jealous! Anyone else miss Andy Helfer’s and Kyle Baker’s version of The Shadow? One of the most underated books ever!
This interview reminds me of something one of my instructors in graphic design college said to me. He mentioned that I have a mainstream style and to find my “own voice” – and I was thinking “Hello? We’re in advertising not Fine Arts”. Yeesh. The instuctor later argued with me that those “X” baseball caps from the 1990′s stood for Generation X. When I showed him a book by Spike Lee where he talks about marketing the Malcom X movie with said caps he started a yelling match with me in front of the first year students.
Years later after he called the agency I was working at looking for freelance work. Apparently he got booted from the college. Sorry to get off topic :P

A friend of mine had an X hat on at a comic book convention (circa 1992). Stan Lee pointed to it and ‘thanked’ him “for the support”.
Stan was a HUGE civil rights guy back in the 60′s.
I’m not kidding — look at the Black Panther!
