El Pulpo looks to be the Spanish edition of a French series called La Poulpe – that is, The Octopus. It’s a pulp/hardboiled crime series including novels and comics and each story is drawn and/or written by a different author. Some pretty big names have taken part and in France some of the more interesting ‘alternative’ cartoonists have drawn Poulpe books.
