Famous cartoonists drawing with their eyes closed

In what could be the coolest blog post ever, blogger Johnny C. shares a fun find with us: A 1947 issue of LIFE Magazine asked several famous cartoonists to draw their signature characters, and then try drawing them again blindfolded. The results are surprisingly beautiful Picassoesque abstractions.

    Wow! What fun. Someone should do this with comic strip artists today. It could be a regular feature at conventions and NCS get-togethers.

    I always suspected Chester Gould could draw Dick Tracy with his eyes shut. He came pretty darn close…!

    wow, this is so cool! 8-> I remember doing this blindfolded drawing thing with my sister back when I was a kid, it used to be damn fun :) That, and drawing with my left hand. They make a pretty good exercise for handiness too

    This is rad, definitely dictates how much these guys have drawn their characters. All the elements are pretty accurate, just shifted around.

    Chester Gould’s is almost bang on.
