We're also hoping to get Tony Feyer - George's son - to attend as well. Should be a blast...come on out!!

[...] Canadian broadcasting icon Lister Sinclair will also be on hand to help induct his friend, the late cartoonist George Feyer (previously on Drawn!), into the ‘Giants of the North’ (aka The Canadian Cartoonist Hall of Fame.) [...]

I remember attending the CNE in Toronto in in the early 60's. George Feyer was featured drawing cartoons on an overhead projector using impossible scribbles that people gave him as his starting point.

I had a particularly convoluted way of doing my initials which I was sure would stump Feyer. What could he possibly make out of my contribution? Well, it was not a problem. In short order he had created a circus act with all sorts of characters swinging from a trapeze.

I got to keep my orginal George Feyer work that he produced that day. Unfortunately, I think it has been lost over the years. It would be neat if I could find it again!

Great stuff on Feyer. If there was a more overlooked Cdn cartoonist, i challenge you to find me one. I recently watched a few old TELESTORY TIMEs and Feyer is remarkably fast, a very swift & funny artist. I'm not sure exactly when he died, but the brief info i have says it was in Hollywood - he was only 46.
I have a posed studio photo in my mitts...i should scan it or something and pass it along.

I just found George Feyer's Stamp Book in a thrift store. It is clever and the illustrations hit the nail on the head about many issues that are still current today even though the book was published in 1975. It includes a 3 page introduction by Pierre Berton.
