Flight 3

Volume 3 of the superb comics anthology Flight hits stores today. You’ll definitely want to check out the mouth-watering preview page over at the Flight Blog. Flight 3 contains new stories by Kazu Kibuishi, Kean Soo, Bill Plympton, Becky Cloonan, Michel Gagné, our very own Matt Forsythe, and many others. Newsarama even has an early preview of Volume 4! Flight is fast becoming the book I look forward to most each year…

Unfortunately it wasn’t delivered to the comic shops and so I have to wait until Diamond decides to deliver it to the local comics shops who, by the way, keep them in business.

Not sure why Diamond seems to ship books to comic shops later than the traditional book distributors do to the book stores. Same thing happened with the Scholastic Babysitters Club graphic novel.

Well, for one thing Diamond is a complete monopoly and honestly doesn’t have much to pressure them into meeting deadlines for books like these. They are all preordered so Diamond knows they are paid for. Its sad really.
