If Global Warming is Real…

No matter where you stand on the climate change issue, hopefully this blog will convince you once and for all that someone really needs to come up with a better joke about it.

    what a clever dog, haha…

“someone really needs to come up with a better joke about it.”
    Totally. Nice find.

    What a depressing find…

There are a number of very wealthy people in the United States. That proves that the so-called “financial crisis” is a myth.

its very genius scene….i like it

    Depressing, somewhat…
It is the duty of every cartoonist, to make catchy jokes that'll stick in the minds of readers (esp. Mr. Joe Average) and influence their opinions, WITHOUT thinking about the consequences or actually doing any research (click my name for an in-depth article about why “it's so damned cold”). Who needs science, jokes are undeniably superior.

This is one of many cartoons I've seen recently along the same lines. I completely agree that if you are going to risk misinforming the general public about something so important, it had better be damn funny (which this oft-repeated joke just isn't!)

It's not really that hard if you just think for a while and not settle on the first one that pops into your head. Check out mine; http://collinscartoons.blogspot.com/2010/01/glo…

If only we had some sort of peer review system that we could use to keep these dangerous non-conformist ideas from being published!

@ Tartiflette : I think the complaint here is that these jokes *are* conformist. Specifically, they conform to one freaking joke told ad nauseum.

  • gal

That blog isn't convincing. Though I felt the same way about the constant same freaking joke being spewed upwards of 5x a day by some random person about Bush for the entire 8 years.

Aside from the hackneyed, ill-informed punch line, anybody else notice a perturbing amount of book-burning in these cartoons?

  • http://twitter.com/bradleymel Melvin Bradley

As tired as the jokes were, the worst part to me was the fact that not one of these cartoonists actually could draw a recognizable Al Gore. If you have to label the caricature, then you have failed at doing your job. why didn't anyone do an image search on the web for a reference?

Strange how the cries of “fear-mongering” are usually emitted by the same kind of people who believe that there is a massive terrorist network of diabolical masterminds bent on destroying their SUV's.

  • David

The problem is that global warming IS the joke.

  • David

Wouldn't the ignorant comparisons to Nazis be more “perturbing”?
