The miniature digital paintings were done on-site using the Brushes iPhone app.
I wasn’t convinced the iPhone would be a useful sketching tool until I saw these.

It’s very similar to Brushes (I use both) but offers a little more control. Also it records your drawings and allows you to play them back.
Combine either of these programs with a pogo stylus and it’s like drawing with a sharpie.
