Last week I discovered Library Thing, an online book cataloguing website. But unlike other similar sites, Library Thing is social software, which means that with things like user reviews and tagging, you can discover new books and people with similar tastes. As I entered in my books, I noticed that one of the users that had a similar library to me was MoCCA (the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art). Here’s their growing collection. How many of their books do you share?
The site is immensely cool, and Tim Spaulding, the brains behind the operation would love it if there were more people adding their libraries of comics, graphic novels, cartooning, and art books into the system. The site smartly figures out what books (comic or otherwise) you might enjoy based on the collections of people with similar tastes to you, so start cataloguing! (And, for the curious, here’s my collection)
