Jillian Tamaki is blogging now. Lots of process sketches along with some wonderful journal comics (a nice précis of the city of Calgary).

Big fan of Tamaki–she has a lovely line, and it’s good to see her mentioned here on Drawn.

Yes, her husband being Sam Weber, I believe. He was a year older than me, but we both occupied studio space in the same room as a part of our high school art program. He was previously featured here, and his portfolio can be found at:

Last year I also had the pleasure of screen-printing t-shirts for a band on the record label I co-run (Hills Like White Elephants) which featured lovely linework by the talented Tamaki.

Oops, I made a mistake in my previous comment about the shirt design. I just realized I confused Jillian Tamaki with Joy Ang (who has also been featured on here)… ARGH… they both start with J and are both incredible illustrators! My bad.

    Joy Ang’s portfolio here:

Okay, now I know why I was confused. Jillian Tamaki didn’t do the shirt-design, but she DID do the cover art for Woodpigeon’s 7″ EP “Death By Ninja (A Love Song)”. It’s actually a split with Remote-Kid, who have their own version of the album (though without the tamaki artwork it’s not quite the same).

Anyway, I’ll shut-up now. I apologize for my prior confusion.
