Joe Barbera 1911-2006

Joe Barbera (left), who made up one half of Hanna-Barbera, the animation duo that produced the Flintstones, Tom & Jerry, Yogi Bear, Scooby-Doo, and countless others has died at the age of 95, leaving behind a 70-year career in animation. Hanna-Barbera changed the face of television animation and their work inspired countless animators and cartoonists today.

    I was never a fan of Hannah and Barbera’s tv animation work but their Tom and Jerry was often a thing of sublime beauty. Thanks for reminding me. I just watched “The NIght Before Christmas” with my 5 year old daughter and it made up for a few very bad days.

    man…thats too bad, Tom and Jerry was and is such an awesome show. I would come home from school and watch that everyday. Good times good times..
