John Canemaker’s Oscar experience

canemaker.jpgOur very own Ward Jenkins has just posted the second half of an incredibly in-depth interview with animator/animation-historian John Canemaker about his experience of being nominated for, and subsequently winning, the Academy Award for best animated short in 2006 for The Moon and the Son: An Imagined Conversation.

Be sure, too, to watch the video of John’s adventures in the limo ride leading up to the ceremony.

Hey, thanks John for the mention! I want to thank you for hosting the video here on Drawn! That was mighty nice of ya. The video is not very long, but it is kinda interesting to see and feel the energy that was evident after they won the Oscar.

    Thanks again, John!

John’s a great guy — I was lucky enough to work with him on a segment about him for The Museum of Modern Art kids site http://moma -dot- org/destination. Once inside, you can click on the movie theatre to see it, including the full version of his film Bridgehampton.
