John Kascht videos: Behind the Caricature

Caricaturist John Kascht sent in this link to a series of Candidates 101 videos, in which he examines the candidates for the U.S. presidential race. The videos are an insightful look into John’s process and how his drawings are influenced by not just his subjects’ facial features, but by their politics and public personas. The videos highlight how it’s not just John’s technical proficiency as an artist that make him a great caricaturist, but also his understanding of personality and character.

    These are surprisingly entertaining. After watching them all I kept wishing there were others to see. He really has a pleasing way of describing the candidates personalities visually, and his caricatures are dead on.
