Little People: a tiny street art project

tiny people Blogger, Slinkachu, takes his tiny painted models into the streets of London and photographs them in interesting places. The result is a wonderful (and oddly thought-provoking) street art project.

Says Slinkachu: “Trying to take steady pictures on a moving tube, without people thinking you are a pervert, is tricky.”

Someone at Ryerson’s student show here in toronto did some similar work that I really enjoyed. For the life of me I can’t remember their name.

An artist collective called blast theory, also based in London, (http://www.blasttheory.co.uk/index.php) has a similar project that launches the 28th of september, but instead of using the streets as the location they have built a vast model town installed in a public space. It’s a public game where every 1000 players is represented by one figure which is moved by hand ever hour. More info here: http://www.blasttheory.co.uk/bt/work_day_of_figurines.html
