Headgames is the eighth issue from the artists collective known as Meathaus, and is loaded with short comics pieces by the likes of James Jean, Tomer Hanuka, Tom Herpich, Dash Shaw, and features a cover and finishing story by Farel Dalrymple that are arguably the best parts of the book. Comics anthologies always seem like such a mixed bag. There’s always a handful of pieces that don’t grab me, or that I can’t even bother finishing to read, and there a few of these here, to be sure, but Headgames features a few particularly great pieces by Tony Sandoval, Jim Campbell, and Troy Nixey — that and the inside back cover features this unspeakably wonderful page from Tom Herpich, which looks even better in print.
