There’s a fascinating and moving story unfolding over at Leif Peng’s Today’s Inspiration blog—the story of illustrators Naiad and Walter Einsel. Comparable to Alice and Martin Provensen, the Einsel’s each had similar styles and thus worked together on many projects throughout the years. In fact, I only knew of “Naiad” through a couple of wonderful illustrations I had seen recently and was in the process to find out just who this enigma of an artist was. It’s good to see that Naiad is still alive and able to tell her story to Leif personally. It’s an ongoing story, one that will go through Friday, so here are the daily entries (I’ll add the rest later):
Day 1: A Calling Card For All the World To See
Day 2: I Liked His Work Because It Looked Like Mine
Day 3: Leapfrogging
Day 4: More Feast Than Famine
Day 5: Crazy In Love
Be sure to check out the Flickr set of their work HERE.
