Whether it’s because I studied design as opposed to art in school, or because I grew up reading Peanuts, I’m a firm believer in the “keep it simple, stupid” school of illustration. I also know it takes a lot of restraint to pull it off well. How much detail is too much? How much isn’t enough? Italian illustrator Olimpia Zagnoli strikes a perfect balance between cartooning and graphic design, and makes me wonder if there’s a difference between the two at all.
