Ann Smith constructs robot animals out of recycled electronics, and they could be the cutest robots you’ll ever see. For more stunning robots-from-junk artwork (and rayguns-from-junk, and rockets-from-junk), check out Flickr user Lockwasher.

Since you mentioned Ann Smith, I wanted to share Dr. Evermor with you. He is really creative with scrap metal. His most recent work is a set of enormous dragons that can played like a musical instrument. I realize this is a massive detour from illustration, but still is totally worth it. There are many websites that don’t really do his amazing work justice, but this one does have quite a few images. http://www.ohiobarns.com/othersites/miscellaneous/49-57smp/49-57scrapmpark0.html

A person can create ART. Great. But to truely live with art is the mark of a genius. Go to Wisconsin to see the SCRAP METAL PARK. This is the coolest stuff you will want to see. Robots? Large scale metal animals, creatures, aliens. You must see this place. Central Wis. Scroll down to see CAROLs links.
