
Graham Roumieu has been teaching a course at The Ontario College of Art and Design called New Directions in Pictorial Design about the relationship between hand-rendered type and hand-rendered illustrative images. The result of the course is Paper Beats Internet. Graham says:
The students are going to be providing content for a website mimicking a social network a la Twitter, Facebook and the like. The catch is that aside from the content being viewed on a computer screen, the content itself will be primarily created by hand, making it perhaps the world’s first analog social networking site.
