Resfest – Animated Shorts online

i like pandas

CITIZENShift is hosting a slew of encore presentations from the 2005 RESFEST media festival online.

I Like Pandas is a whacky little vignette about two mindless pandas. Jessica Borutski’s Spumco influences are evident – so it was natural to see she had also put some time in on the New Ren & Stimpy series.

Definitely check out What a Wonderful Day which made me howl with laughter. This number, by Phillip Eddols, has made its rounds through a bunch of festivals and garnered awards along the way. If you haven’t seen it yet, go watch it now. So simple, yet so funny.

Other featured animations are Robota (what Cronenburg would look like if he only worked with lego), Heaven, Small Pulse, and Spacer – or just go check ‘em all out!

that site is probably the worst technically put together thing i have ever come across on the web.
the page constantly comes up as “error” and is bogged down with so much script that its as slow as a pregnant turtle.

    what a shame.

Too bad. The site requires RealOne player, which I refuse to install. RealAlternative is for Windows only, not OSX.

So, until such time as they allow these to be seen in Quicktime, I’ll have to skip them. :(

[...] From these humble beginnings, Drawn is now in its second year and has expanded into a well-organized blog that posts links to at least five new pieces of art a day. The works that have appeared on the site range from the charming to the surreal, and hail from locales such as Brazil and Great Britain. As John hoped, the site has grown to represent a “broader spectrum of visual culture” than most art blogs. [...]
