Rick Sealock

I’ve long been a fan of Calgary’s Rick Sealock (whom I believe now makes his home in Kitchener, ON). His paintings are a mess of characters and loose, energetic painting. I remember reading an interview in which Rick said he favoured regular old house paint to other media, which I think sort of adds to the great sloppy, kinetic nature of his illustrations. No one does big noses quite like Rick Sealock.

    The man is a genius! And a great teacher too. All those ACADers are missing out since his move to Ontario.

    I highly approve of the image you’ve chosen for this post. I have the original hanging in my living room. :-)
