Ridiculously intricate Etch-a-Sketch art

We’ve all played with an Etch-a-Sketch before, but I think George Vlosich III has every one of us beat when it comes to dedication and patience when using a toy medium that leaves no room for errors. Visit his website, Etched in Time, to see his skilled pop art created using everyone’s favourite frustrating drawing toy.

I can’t even draw a diagonal line on those things. Everything I do looks like stairs.

er, what I meant to say was I’m not sure it’s a digitally remastered “composite image”.
If you read about his “process” and look at the linewidths where the has lines meeting orthogonally, I’d say it looks not all that unreal.

I prefer the above googlepages page though–none of this forcing a new window to be opened or such silliness.

George Vlosich III: Maestro of the Etch-a-Sketch

I went to high school with George’s brother Greg, who is also an amazing artist (aka the younger brother in the photos)! You can see his work around Cleveland in places like Big Fun in Cleveland Heights; it’s really cool to see his works in person.

Sorry, I must have had a stroke.
What I meant to say was… George needs to apply his skill set to something a bit more transcendent than the pedestrian world of sports. Or maybe that’s a fitting medium for professional sports. Professional sports demand higher licensing fees for broadcast, forcing up our cable bills. Arts programs in schools are cut while athletic programs are reinforced. The Etch-a-Sketch is a fitting place for such common achievements.

    Yes. I hate professional sports.

  • Awesomeness

Its not a composite, look where sometimes he had to overlap two lines because he was making a line sticking out. it’s thicker. You cant do that with photoshop.
