Taeeun Yoo doesn’t have a whole lot on her site yet, but what is there is great (like this, one of the wonderful new covers she created for the reissued Wrinkle in Time series).
I can’t wait for the forthcoming sketchbook section.

I remember reading the first two as a kid, but the copy I had just had a science fictiony cover of a winged horse or something, and was nowhere near as well- suited and gorgeous as these. I’ve seen other reaissues and these are by far the best!
And the other illustrations are beautifully designed, and incredibly engaging for images that are so deceptively simple. Would love to see her let loose on a nicely written picture book (apparently she’s illustrated at least one–hope the writing is as good as her pictures).
I love some the muted atmosphere in the boat drawings.
Ok, now why do that have to make that damned Caldecott medal so big and raunchy all the time? Covering up such a giant-sized hunk of the artwork? I know it sells books, but jeez it’s distracting especially from such a quiet simple composition. I think it really puts a dent in the design of the book.
