Terry Colon

terry-colon

I stumbled upon some work by Terry Colon today, and wondered if he had ever been featured here. Turns out, no!

I suspect most of us originally saw Colon’s work on the now-retired Suck-dot-com, waaay back before there were blogs or RSS feeds or social bookmarking. And while his site is jam-packed full of his lovely work, it’s not laid out like a traditional portfolio site: The illustrations are posted in context with the stories (many written by Colon) which they originally accompanied.

EDIT: Added the forgotten URL to Terry’s site! Thanks Brian!

What a fascinating blend of a designerly sensibility, cartoons, and an illustrator’s attentiveness to given circumstances. I followed his work at Suck, and have missed it since. What a pro!

What a coincidence! One of my designers picked up some of Terry’s work for my magazine this week. He had no idea who he is, so I regailed him with stories of the salad days of the dot.com boom and Terry’s work at Suck.

I even posted about it. must be something in the ideaspace weather.
